Turning on and turning off compute resources on a need basis needs getting used to. This is once fundamental behavior shift that we need to digest and change our organization behavior to leverage cloud capabilities. IT Cloud capabilities enable us to rethink capex investments, as an organization, what do I want to invest in and what are application and compute services I can use and pay for on a need basis.
For traditional IT product companies, this change in end user consumption pattern represents a fundamental shift that challenges the way products are developed, delivered and supported. Instead of committing to buy storage hardware that can scale to meet organizational needs for the next few years, end users are going to buy storage as an when they need it. Instead of buying perpetual software product license, users want access to software on a subscription basis. Software version upgrades in the legacy world of owning software is a dreaded discussion. In the cloud world, software version changes are transparent to the end user. Software vendor develops new features and bug fixes and update the software that is running on the cloud. The end user notices new capabilities without any disruption to their application’s availability.
All of this represents a tremendous opportunity to innovate on new products and services that can be offered on the cloud. Cloud based products and services need to scale on demand, offer pay per use billing and multi-tenancy built in from grounds up.
At sanovi, we have embraced this opportunity with the Cloud Continuity product release. It helps organization leverage the benefits on public and hybrid cloud. We are working with data center service providers and enable them to offer recovery as a service using Sanovi software. All this translates to benefits for the end user, Disaster Recovery which was perceived as costly and affordable only by large organization has now become affordable and a must have for all organization that depended IT to fuel its business.
Cisco partners with 35 independent software vendors, seven Intercloud partners announce hybrid cloud services
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – June 10, 2015 – Cisco today announced it is partnering with 35 independent software vendors (ISVs) to accelerate the creation of innovative cloud services for the Intercloud—the globally connected network of clouds Cisco is building with its partners. This first wave of hand-picked ISVs will offer cloud services to help customers capture the multitude of opportunities created by the Internet of Everything (IoE).
The company also unveiled its latest hybrid cloud software innovations spanning new security capabilities, increased manageability across clouds and support for additional hypervisors. By enabling flexible workload placement and consistent network and security policies across public and private cloud environments, Cisco Intercloud Fabric™ is taking the complexity out of hybrid cloud.
By simplifying hybrid cloud, Cisco Intercloud Fabric is showing strong market momentum with more than 100 customers and 65 partners worldwide. At Cisco Live!™, 10 Intercloud partners—Cirrity, Datalink, iland, Long View, Peak 10, Presidio, QTS, Quest, Sungard Availability Services and Virtustream—announced new hybrid cloud services built on Cisco Intercloud Fabric. Cisco also announced that KPIT Technologies, Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, and the Salvation Army are using Cisco Intercloud Fabric to implement a single operational model across dev/test, quality assurance and production environments.
Building Cloud Services for the Internet of Everything
To help businesses capture the cloud opportunities presented by IoE, Cisco is partnering with 35 ISVs across three key areas: next-generation developer platforms, big data and analytics, and IoE cloud services.
Here at Sanovi, we are extremely excited to announce that we are an official ISV member of Cisco Intercloud Marketplace. This week, we headed to the Cisco Live! conference in San Diego to join over 35 other industry leaders in proclaiming our partnership in providing our services via Intercloud. We’re proud to take this exciting leap forward with you, and give you the business continuity tools that you need to thrive in the new and ever-expanding cloud-based world.
Obviously, computing in the cloud does not equal immunity to IT outages. As infrastructure and consumer modalities change, applications need to keep up with those changes and follow consumer behavior. Over 90 percent of IT downtime is caused by hardware and software operational outages. You don’t have time for outages, and neither do your users. In the event of catastrophe (and, let’s be real, catastrophes happen—life happens), Sanovi’s expanded Application Defined Continuity software will give customers the security that they need to meet their consumers needs—now available from anywhere on the globe via the Intercloud. We know how complex your systems are, both physically and in the cloud. Automated DR management tools are more necessary than ever to ensure critical business continuity. Sanovi’sApplication Defined Continuity makes migration and recovery to the cloud simple, seamless and SLA driven, enabling your business to leverage hybrid clouds.
We’re absolutely ecstatic to be a part of this infrastructure revolution. We have the privilege of helping several enterprise customers including Fortune 500, around the world in in mitigating their IT system risks through our Cloud Continuity Software. Thanks to Cisco, we’ll now have the ability to meet the needs of Intercloud customers with ubiquitous access to this powerfulCloud software. That makes everyone happy, and that makes us happy. By enabling digital transformation of an enterprise to an application-aware infrastructure that captures workload requirements and leverages analytics to optimize in real-time, SDI is an IT trend that can have the greatest impact on an enterprise’s infrastructure and operations
As organizations are adopting SMAC (social media, mobility, analytics, and cloud computing), enterprise applications are becoming smarter with context sensitive analytics powered by mobility and social media. These newer capabilities are driving the underlying infrastructure to handle huge amounts of data. Constant innovation to stay relevant in the current competitive world is pushing the IT teams to spend more time with business than operating the infrastructure. This requires the underlying IT infrastructure to be more smart and self-managing completely. Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI) provides exactly this, where the applications define the policies and the underlying infrastructure delivers the application needs seamlessly with total automation. It enables digital transformation of the enterprise at a very optimal cost.
