With more than 20 years of sound business and technology vision and delivery experience with large scale enterprise systems in disaster recovery, storage, server and networking areas, Chandra Sekhar is one of the founders and also the CEO of Sanovi. As founder and CEO, Chandra, as he is fondly called, has been one of the driving forces behind Sanovi’s successful transition from just another start-up to the industry leader in Disaster Recovery Management (DRM) space. In his earlier role as Sanovi’s CTO, Chandra was responsible for the strategization, development, and delivery of Sanovi’s unique DR Management Platform.
Prior to founding Sanovi, Chandra worked as the Director of SAN Engineering at Sanrise Inc., a leading storage service provider, where he delivered intelligent service-centric storage solutions in the disk, backup, and recovery areas. During his stint there, he was responsible for 70% of the company’s revenues. Earlier, he also held the role of Architect at Sequent (now with IBM), where he built several features from concept to product in NUMA/SMP kernels and IO Subsystems. He has also worked at Sun, Auspex, and Wipro.
Chandra is also currently the Managing Trustee for Pyramid Valley International, a large spiritual center in Bangalore that promotes meditation and spiritual science to one and all free of cost and which is very close to his heart. Chandra believes that spiritual science is the root of all sciences and a good understanding of it, coupled with regular practice of meditation, will lead to joyous living and peaceful coexistence of all individuals and societies across the globe. He devotes a significant amount of his time and resources to this organization.
Chandra holds a BS in Computer Science from India’s premier technology institute, the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) at Pilani. He has also co-authored five patents.
Armed with over 20 years of experience in the networking, information and storage management, and IT recovery and Disaster Recovery Solutions spaces of the information technology industry, Lakshman is one of the co-founders of Sanovi and also the Vice President of its Products division. As VP – Products, Lakshman is responsible for product management and marketing to ensure the Sanovi DRM suite of software remains a market leader and exceeds customer expectations.
Before co-founding Sanovi, Lakshman co-founded Sanrise, a global storage service provider company. Prior to that, Lakshman has held engineering and technology strategy positions at Auspex, Silicon Graphics, and the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Lakshman holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia, USA, and has five patents to his credit in the area of Storage and Data Management.
Amarjeet Gill has had a successful sales track record in the technology industry for 20 years. He is a proven leader who has built a lengthy executive contact list in many industries, including financial services, manufacturing, telecom and Govt. Both large as well as smaller entrepreneurial companies profitably grew their business as a result of Amarjeet’s sales expertise. He has consistently been effective at introducing cutting edge technologies to large private and Govt. organisations.
He has worked with market leaders like Apara, Veritas, Sun Microsystems and CommVault and is a experienced leader in sales management. Specialised in large account management, building channel strategies and growing new markets with rich experience of handling business across India for more than 15 years.
He holds a Bachelor degree in Mech. Engineering.
Vinod is the Director of Product Engineering at Sanovi and brings with him over 18 years of experience in software product development, with expertise in database recovery and administration. Before joining Sanovi, he led and developed enterprise software products in the US and also in India. As Sanovi’s Director of Product Engineering, Vinod is responsible for the development and delivery of Sanovi DRM.
Raja comes with over 20 years of experience in the field of Disaster Recovery and Data Protection, having executed various enterprise deployments in India and in the US. He is a seasoned entrepreneur and DR expert, who successfully built enterprise DR and Data Protection products and solutions from the ground up. As VP – OEM Engineering, Raja has successfully translated the initial concepts of Sanovi DRM to an enterprise-class product running at the offices of top financial, manufacturing, and media giants. He has been a key contributor in setting the direction of the product as well as a key player in the acquisition of large enterprise customers.
In addition to a strong knowledge and understanding of the Disaster Recovery domain, and also replication and database technologies, Raja brings to the table enterprise application architecture and development experience. While directly contributing to the initial architecture of the product, he has personally developed initial versions of some of the core modules like the correlation engine, the communication framework, and the file replicator.
Raja has set up one of the largest DR i-labs covering different replication, database, and OS platform technologies. During the early stages of the product, he had handled the additional portfolio of professional services and customer support, apart from engineering. Before Sanovi, he worked with Sanrise, Auspex, Compuware and Wipro.
With four US patents in storage and networking technologies, Raja has in-depth knowledge of storage, networking, databases and replication technologies. He holds an MS degree in Computer Science from Central University, Hyderabad.
A chartered accountant with more than 37 years of overall experience that includes stints at companies like Tektronix (southern regional controller for Australia, Singapore, and India managing both the sales and software financial operations), IBM, and Bosch, Ramakrishnan, Ram to friends, is Sanovi’s CFO. Ram has vast exposure to handling international processes and systems.
As CFO, Ram is responsible for Sanovi’s financial policies, HR policies, and management operations.
Raji Iyengar is Vice President – Global Alliances & APAC Business Development at Sanovi.
Prior to joining Sanovi, Raji was General Manager, Alliances- HP Asia Pacific and Japan. Her prime responsibility was to help grow HP’s enterprise business through a thriving eco system of Alliance partners in the region. In doing so she worked closely with worldwide, region as well as country teams to build strategic partnerships with global ISVs and System Integrators
In an earlier role, Raji was the South East Asia cluster sales lead for Growth Markets Organization in HP, working across various business groups of HP – Enterprise Group, Enterprise Services as well as the Printing and Personal Systems group to drive One HP strategic deals and initiatives. She was also the sales lead for Industry verticals – Manufacturing, Financial Sector, Telecom ad Public Sector for the sub region.
Overall Raji has about 27 years of experience in IT industry, leading international sales organizations and multi-national teams to achieve their goals. The last 13 years were with HP. Preceding this she was with IBM and other leading IT organizations in India.
Prior to joining IT industry, Raji worked at the Nehru Planetarium in India where she co-authored a book on ‘ FAQ on Comets’ , popularized astronomy to masses, conducted ‘ telescope making’ workshops, assisted in scripting and production of planetarium as well as national television programs on Science and Astronomy
Raji earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science (Physics) India, and subsequently graduate courses in Astronomy & Astrophysics .
